But here's the twist: Add their details to a dedicated spreadsheet. Include their name, job title, contact info, LinkedIn profile, and the date they contacted you.
You can totally connect with them on LinkedIn, but I'd suggest only adding to your network and spreadsheet those who reach out with a relevant offer or work in companies you're interested in.
This way, you might end up adding two recruiters out of 10 to your list. The goal is to create a list of good recruiters who could help you in the future rather than a list of all recruiters who reach out.
Think of it like collecting stars in a game; each recruiter is a star that could lead you to your next opportunity.
Why It's a Game-Changer
Fast forward to the pandemic. Suddenly, Thomas found himself part of the layoff statistics. It was a tough blow, but then he remembered his spreadsheet - his "Recruiter Safety Net".
